5 Days in Ubud, Bali

5 Days in Ubud, Bali

Hello everyone and welcome in other article where I’m taking you with me in another wonderful part of the island : Ubud. Are you ready to discover it with me? Let’s go!!

Location

Ubud is located in « the middle » of the island at approximately 2hours from Canang Sari Villa and Uluwatu. By car, it’s going to be a little bit longer (around 3hours)

Day 1 :

On the first day, I just took the time to have a lunch and to visit the area.  Landscapes in Ubud are amazing and very different from Uluwatu and Kuta/Seminyak. This city is located in the forest so you can be sure you are going to see a lot of monkeys, creepers etc.. which give you a change of scene for sure. I decided to visit the rice terraces which are everywhere overthere. You can walk in them or just see them from the road. Personnaly, i recommend you to have a lunch or just a drink with the view on it. it's just breathtaking

Day 2 :

The second day was the first complete day in Ubud. We left the hotel early in the morning to go to Jatiluwih Rice Terraces Trail which is part of the Unesco National Parks. We booked a personal guide for a total of around 500K/day. At the price, he took us to a special trip and this natural park, showing us the best places. We had the chance to see the beautiful terraces and landscapes that are completely different than the « usual » Bali that everybody knows (the more touristic one). We loved to walk in the middle of the terraces and meet the locals who are so welcoming and nice. This is definitely the place not to be missed if you come to Ubud!

Informations : the entrance costs 40K

Day 3 :

Our guide took us to discover a coffee plantation which is definitely a thing to do in this part of the island. There are a lot of them so don’t be worried, it is very easy to find.  The locals will explain the process of coffee creation and why there are so many of them. You will be able to taste a selection of a dozen of coffee and tea. You will also have the chance to taste the most expensive coffee in the world and how is it prepared which is ….. I can not say anything more, just come and discover it by yourself, you won't regret it!!!

Informations : all of this is free! Then, they will show you their coffee and tea shops where you can buy tea/coffee bagds  for around 300K-600K

On the afternoon, we went to see different waterfalls which are also very typical from Ubud. They are so many of them in this area : it’s just something to see. Time for Instagram posts!!

Informations : the entrance costs between 20K-40K

Day 4 :

We kept our guide to go to the Hot Springs, which are hot swimming pools located and heated thanks to the Mount Batur, an active volcano where you can also do a night trek to see the sunrise at the top of it.

Informations : the entrance costs 50K and the access to the pool 300K

Day 5 :

On the last day, we left Ubud to go to the northern part of Island, Lovina, which is really famous for…. The dolphins and the coral reefs. It starts at 6am or 8:30. You can see the sunrise and after that the boat drives you to see the dauphins swimming. After that, the driver will show you the coral reef where you'll be able do snorkeling!!

Informations : several prices are available depending on what you would like to do/see. Between 150K-250K
